Short interviews about H&M Isabel Marant:
When did you first hear about Isabel Marant?
Milla: Definitely, I would say, at least eight years ago. When she first came out, probably between eight and 10 years ago, yeah, and a lot of my friends were wearing her stuff, and she had a small boutique, and that's where I discovered her, and then I launched her first campaign, her big campaign.
Everyone's so excited about the collaboration. Obviously you're wearing some of the pieces, but what ones do you really love in the collection?
Milla: I love all the chunky, cable-knit sweaters. I love all the gold lamé. I love that little dress, the little Victorian pieces. And I love mixing all those different textures together. That's what I love about Isabel. You can take a chunky, ethnic type of cardigan and mix it with a little Victorian mini-dress and a gold lamé scarf. And that's what makes Isabel herself, because that's what she would do. She mixes so many different fabrics and textures, and I think that's what makes her so special. And the stuff is so interchangeable.
New York Magazine
How did you end up as the face of Isabel Marant's H&M campaign?
Milla: You know, Isabel and I have been friends for a long time. I've been an avid collector of her clothing for ten years. I launched her first campaign. So it was pretty natural, I think, for her to reach out and for me to want to support. This is super important for her as an artist, as a businesswoman. I love to see strong, successful women doing it, you know? So I wanted to support as much as I could.
This sale is pandemonium. Any tips for surviving the stampede?
Milla: I would just use football tactics, I guess. You know? That's the only way to do it. You just get Resident Evil on everybody and start, like, pulling out martial arts moves. And if, like, I see that last shirt and someone else is going for it, you just push 'em aside, head butts, whatever it takes.
Do you have any plans to go back into design? Jovovich-Hawk was a huge success.
Milla: I would love to. I mean, I do little collections right now, but to do it full time, I don't really have time right now between all of the other things I'm doing. It's a lot of work. It was fun when it was small, but as soon as we got successful, it was too much for me to think about. You know, we blew up and then we closed down. As soon as it got popular, we were over it.
