10.30.09 - Interview from Parade (US) October 29, 2009:

"I think parents need to take a lot more responsibility than they do about whether it's OK for their children to go to Resident Evil or any other movie with violence or sex or whatever. It's really easy to blame Hollywood for violence having an effect on kids, but movies would have no power if parents would just set their own standards. And it's the same with video games."

"Me and my brother Marco would play Resident Evil together and I said to him, 'This is the perfect vehicle for me.' I mean, Alice wears a tube top and a mini-skirt and she's killing zombies. So when I first auditioned, I said to Paul [director Paul W. S. Anderson, her husband ] 'If I don't get this part my brother is going to kill me because he sees a huge boost in his popularity at school if I play her.'"

"I did this movie .45 that kind of never saw the light of day, it went straight to DVD. I really connected with this character who was a victim of domestic violence but ends up taking control. I think a lot more women today are taking control as opposed to being the kind of stereotypical female who's weepy and gets abused by men. Women are more educated now about abuse. It's not like it was in the '80s. I think they're much more in control of all aspects of their lives."

10.28.09 - New movie! Milla will star in Faces in the Crowd! From Variety:

Milla Jovovich will star in writer-director Julien Magnat's psychological thriller Faces in the Crowd for Forecast Pictures, Radar Films and Minds Eye Entertainment. Scott Mednick (Where the Wild Things Are) is producing alongside Jean-Charles Levy, Clement Miserez and Kevin DeWalt. Sylvain White, who directed "Stomp the Yard," is also onboard to produce and mentor Magnat, who is making his English-language helming debut with the project, which he also penned.

Story centers on a woman who barely survives an attack by a serial killer and wakes up in hospital with a head injury that leaves her "face-blind." No longer able to recognize faces, she must navigate a world in which facial features change each time she loses sight of them. All the while the killer is closing in, determined to eliminate the potential witness.

"Julien has written a breathtaking thriller that is truly original, and I was hooked from the first read," Mednick said of the screenplay that deals with the real-life neurological disorder called prosopagnosia.

A Perfect Getaway will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 29, 2009! The DVD and Blu-ray Disc release both include the 98-minute R rated Theatrical Cut and the 108-minute Unrated Director's Cut. The Original Scripted Ending is included as an extra. Both formats offer English (5.1 DTS-HD MA on BD), French and Spanish (5.1 DTS on BD) 5.1 audio and subtitle options. [ Amazon DVD / Amazon Blu-ray ]
