Beat On Ice (MP3)
Milla's comments: "More Than 4" & "Beat On Ice" are demos that I wrote on the guitar and recorded on my laptop, for fun, they're just fun ideas.

Lyrics:
i see you breaking up in water
sinking to the bottom
watching reruns of my dreams
we fade away tonight

i'm washed by sea into the sky...

-i don't know how i fell into you
we just keep falling away
when we get close-

Breathing In Your Sleep (MP3)
Milla's comments: "Breathing In Your Sleep" and "Remedy" are songs that I wrote on the guitar and recorded with my dear friend Anno Birkin. He was my guitar player as well and we were going to record my new record when he passed away in a car crash 2 years ago. He was 20 years old. He wrote thousands of pages of poetry as well as having his own band (3 members of it died in the crash with him). After his death, his father Andrew Birkin published a book of his poetry called Who Says the Race is Over?, most of which he wrote at the time that he and I first met... We were incredibly close and he really represents everything pure and beautiful to me in my life now... Of course perfection weighs too heavily on this earth to survive very long before the ground on which it stands breaks and shatters away... You can see his work at http://www.anno.co.uk/telegraph.shtml

Lyrics:
timing ain't holding up
but my world is blowin up
you make me feel so fine
now you're surprised that i ain't ordinary

-i feel me breathing in your sleep
can you feel it?-

grazing your lips with my fingertips
we wake up a few times
to speak of dreams that make it hard to sleep

-are you dying in your dreams
i know sometimes i can feel it
turn into to stone by the light of morning
disappear without meaning
are you taking up time
that thoughts pressing thru my mind
oh baby, i'm fine
can you believe it?

can you believe it?

Bring It On (MP3)
Notes:

Calm Water (MP3)
Notes: Music by Jesse Dorsy and Milla.

Lyrics:
i feel akin to
a window
feel your face is
slamming thru
your eyes
i smash in little pieces
talking toy our picture

it turns to dream
within my mind

he dresses me in sunshine
this sky of mine

streams of sea
fall down on me
the sun comes through
the cloud
on the wall there is no shadow

wash me with your hands
i'm walking on
calm water

he dresses me in sunshine
this sky of mine

how would you love me if i was your girl?

Distant (MP3)

down slips the morning and soaks the trees
faces come wandering out of their homes
pale
in the middle of the street

(leave it all) colors sharp as razor blades
(i leave it all) and just as deadly
i cut my hand

(i take off)
bird calls twice before it circles away (i take off)
i knew i'd be standing here again
back upon this long unwanted road

down slips the morning
sounds spreads out
thins the fog

colors sharp as razor blades
and just as deadly
cut my hands
on the reflections

the water runs
bird calls twice
and circles away
there's a third circle

i knew i'd be standing here again
back upon this long unwanted road
i ring the bell awakening
the sound spreads out
thins the fog on the hillside
while that distant sun still shines

Diving Up (MP3)
Notes: Music by Billy Scherer and Milla.

Lyrics:
we're released
like fireworks
streaking out in great bright lines
diving up
into the sky
reach out and crush us night
receive us
receive us with honor

-breathe out here
we're released like fireworks-

weeks go by unseen
they're feeding ghosts in the twilight
and you with your terrible sweet ways
and winding roads
drop me headfirst into the trees
and see if i can't fall any higher
i hold a blade
of one blade of grass
to your heart

-chorus-

i'll take off from the surface of the water
diving up
you're at the edge of my vision
a crazy missile
glittering and silent
and it feels good rising up
and it feels like it's never gonna stop
i get fired
i just breathe out
i've been fired

-chorus-

Every Leaf (MP3)

why you bleeding?
i'm on my knees again
days are breezing by
but we're not seeing them
thoughts of what will be
crushed by what is
lines of children
standing fearless
memories of a
future wrapped in shroud
cold hard sun ripping
through the warm dark clouds

-i can't find you
i can't leave off
looking under
every leaf-

fragrant blooms dressed
up in sunshine
i place them fresh here
beside your bed
i know you trembled
i know it sweetheart
don't worry now baby
don't worry now
that it's all said and done

-i can't find you
and i can't leave off
looking under
every leaf-

tonight i'll be somebody's girl
let me be your little girl

Fall Too Soon (MP3)
Milla's comments: I wrote "Fall Too Soon" on the guitar with Bjorn Meyer, my bass player when I was touring The Divine Comedy

Lyrics:
another crystal grin
to make up for the dark skies
put on my best dress so the mess
won't touch my little insides
did you think i'd still be greener
than the weed inside your glass pipe?
greener than the vomit on your shirt

dreaming of a lady strangling a flower
a pretend park with pretend children
in your pretend sight
my love was waiting open armed and close hearted
still out there with his setting sun

-and if i could just
fall too soon
i still wouldn't get there quick enough
waiting,waiting...
there still wouldn't be no one waiting around
but i'll get myself there anyhow-

i cup the silence
so your whisper can be seen
just me and kim marie
were braiding eyes and thoughts and memories
can't put my finger on the way you taste
or what's your face
or... what was that you told me with a sigh?

-chorus-
why put that dream in your scream?
why tell me to fuck off?
put the past in the sugar bowl
make it all a little creamier...

if i could just...
fall too soon...

Flashlight (MP3)
Notes:

Lyrics:
all the drops
on his cheeks are frozen up
red cheeks are turning into rock
rocks for eyes
blind like desire
soft and deep and counting
shades of quiet

living in your fire
living as fire
test myself like
a nuclear site
getting tired
of my insides
turn my filters on

i'm a flashlight
i'm a flash of light
i fly to hit the sky
flying so high
i look down on the sky

feast your eyes
on my little petal
put my firefly
on the mantle
hard to pass him by
without sighing
"how can i say goodbye
to a firefly..."

-chorus-

easier to look outside
on these knees
no tears spill over
shake awake
to stare out there...

how do i say goodbye
to a firefly?

i'm a flashlight
i'm a firefly

Holy Fall (MP3)
Milla's comments: "Holy Fall" is a song that Chris Brenner wrote the music for and I wrote the lyrics.

Lyrics:
brace myself
space myself
throw myself from the window
throw myself from an aerial view
of the highest
a holy fall
it was a holy fall...

-Holy fall
it was a holy fall that brought me here
holy fall
it was a holy fall that brought me-

wrinkled old doll face
on her way to the ball
i've got only myself
to thank for it all
i can picture you almost brushin up against me
ican picture you almost touchin me
and it's not dark at all
it's not dark at all in here

-chorus-
yea, it brought me to this place
into this gorgeous time

Islands (MP3)

leap on down into the trees
brush against the glowing leaves
islands floating in the sky
with sails like moons leading me
all of this happened so fast
to feel your breath knocked out of me
islands floating in the street
the street will lead us to the sea

-get over you-

i try to carry my sweet love with me
but oh! his mind is making food for worms
and only he remembers the sweet parts of me
they're the ones i can't recall

Lazy Orbit (MP3)

i hope we lay down by the water
lay me down in dreams by your side
cross my hands over your heart
i want you to know that i'm the greatest

-there's my heart
on your wandering road
leave me not
running wild and alone
raise my eyes
to your eyes
watch you die out from what's inside
watch you fly out from what's inside-

so here we go drowning

dress me in my favorite memory
touch me and forget it for me
in forgetting getting something else
that you can only lose again

there's more to me
than this quiet storm
laid down low
raging wild and alone
your lazy eye
in which my lazy orbit lies
loosen my mind

here we go

here we go drowning

Let You Go (Listen at ReverbNation)
Milla's comments: this is a song written by myself, stuart zender and chris brenner last year. i wrote the lyrics, we all did the music and stu did most of the production on his own at my house! thanks stu! i love it, but its a bit experimental and we have been spending the last two years finding ourselves. this is who we were last year! lol! enjoy!

hurricane outside your window
staring straight into a storm
open doors and open windows
let me fly out
i'll get broken
you're saying all this with your eyes
i don't know if you realize
i can feel it when you're near me
all the time
all the kindness
when i held you head to toe
rollin through like a hurricane
holdin hands that are made of snow
i always feel it when you're near me
leave a whisper in your ear
tell you what you want to hear
-i won't let you go-
every hour
every moment
thoughts of you
walkin round my room
when we pull aside the curtain
all the clouds begin to bloom
i hope you know that i can feel
your voice melting all over me
turning into what i fear
-i won't let you
i won't let you go-

Looking For Room (MP3)
Notes: Music by Jesse Dorsy and Milla.

Lyrics:
oh jesus don't stare
go to the store
and buy you some air
buy a six pack of air
and bring it back home to you

she said she's wait for me
with her blonde, red, brown hair
she dances to
lonely old songs
in the living room

-looking for room-

wash me and let me get cold
spinning in circles to dry
try to lead me into the fog
just like a dog

and it sounds so amazing
like backwards guitar
i move behind
the silk folding screen door

-looking for room-

More Than 4 (MP3)
Milla's comments: "More Than 4" & "Beat On Ice" are demos that I wrote on the guitar and recorded on my laptop, for fun, they're just fun ideas.

Lyrics:
who r u
what r u on?
i don't know if i really wanna know cause
you're gonna sweep me out
i wanna cut it away
i wanna lose my body
i send you my thoughts
we bleed into entropy
you're gonna spread me out

chorus:
what collides?
what r we?
do we die?
wake old and weak and slow
and wonder
did i have control?

give me a little light before i close my eyes
and i'll see you down there
when i open them the next time
to see you i gotta shift my focus
i can feel my body breathe
but it's not air
cause air's a dream
we're always changing thru our mind
you'll still know me by my smile

-chorus-

i lose my heart in wind and water
but lost is just what can't be seen
besides what is and what things were
there's worlds of what was in between
worlds folded more than 4

Remedy (MP3)
Milla's comments: "Breathing In Your Sleep" and "Remedy" are songs that I wrote on the guitar and recorded with my dear friend Anno Birkin. He was my guitar player as well and we were going to record my new record when he passed away in a car crash 2 years ago. He was 20 years old. You can see his work at http://www.anno.co.uk/telegraph.shtml

Lyrics:
hold...
this morning to you
all night i flew
here i go...
open the floor

open the mirrored sky
catch these feelings falling by
clean your mouth out
with words that don't hurt

-the fall won't be too long-

clear you'll find me
standing by
clearing here a place to die
hold it
oh, i'm holding
i'm holding on...

-chorus-
i hold it
i hope
i hold
aha!

Take Me To Mars (MP3)
Notes: Music by Jesse Dorsy and Milla.

Lyrics:
carolina
june bugs
hotel
smell

large windows
look inside
checkin people
checkin in

smelling like perfume
woman after woman
right away
on cue
california
let me go
i'll fly anytime

-take me to mars
burn in the sun
nothing but your eyes
clouds... clouds underwater-

i always like to take
pictures from car windows
drive and drive and drive and drive
and always trying to race my life
well, carolina
carolina here i come
june bugs on your back porch
hey let's have some fun

-chorus-

push you away to me
grey skies are blue
blue skies for me...

Wide Awake (MP3)

wading into the dotted light
wet my brain before it dries
move so fast you block out the sky
read my lips before they die

-and i'm wide awake-

storm keeps breaking
into the living room
tears the roof off
smashing windows
fling myself out of the ceiling
don't let gravity anywhere near me

-and i'm wide awake-

You Keep Me Here (MP3)
Notes: Music by Mario Sorrenti and Milla.

Left & Right (MP3)
Notes: Milla performed this song at Fashion Rocks in London, England on October 15, 2003

Lyrics:
Drown my head
In the fire
Were moving faster now
Burning brighter
watch as you fade out
I'm left and right
walking up and down
getting closer to, the point of impact
hold me, under
stay awake and say "I can never decide with you"
my heart my whole life override my mind
what I wait to find
to make me go blind
and the whole world, is rising
Throw myself
you go down below
watch the vapor, slide through the water
at last, he'll run
